Data Collection & Student Privacy

Last updated: October 18, 2026

1. Our Approach to Privacy

MathMate is a teacher-focused mathematics resource platform designed to support instructional planning, differentiation, intervention, and enrichment.

We recognize the importance of protecting educator information and maintaining responsible data practices, particularly when technology is used in educational settings.

This document explains the types of information MathMate collects, how that information is used, who may access it, and how it is managed.

This statement supplements our Privacy Policy at https://mathmate.org/privacy, which provides additional details and governs where applicable.

2. Information We Collect

MathMate collects information necessary to provide accounts, generate instructional resources, maintain subscriptions, support users, and operate the platform.

3. Student data

MathMate is for teachers and school staff. Students do not create accounts, and we do not ask for student names, ID numbers, grades, or records. Please do not type identifiable student information into any MathMate field. Sharing a printed or downloaded worksheet through another service, such as Google Classroom, does not send us any student data.

If your school or district needs a signed data-processing or student-data-privacy agreement, email admin@mathmate.org before using MathMate with protected student information.

4. School usage reports

School administrators can see, for teachers in their own school, a monthly count of sign-ins and tool uses, plus the date of the last sign-in and last tool use. They cannot see what a teacher generated. These records start from the day the report was introduced; earlier activity was not logged. If you are a teacher on a school licence, assume your administrator can see these counts.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising. Service providers that process data for us are listed in the Privacy Policy (hosting, database, AI generation, image generation, payments, email, and bot protection). Inputs you submit to a generation tool are sent to our AI provider to produce the result.

7. Your choices

You can delete your account yourself from the Manage subscription page (this signs you out everywhere, cancels any personal subscription without refund of unused time, and removes your account, memberships and sign-in records). School owners and administrators should email us so we can close the school licence properly. You can also ask us for a copy of your data or a correction. Email admin@mathmate.org from the address on your account; we may verify your identity first. Cookie details are on the Cookie Policy page.
